Councilor Cupparo: “European Social Sound 4U” to bring young people closer to the opportunities offered by the FSE Basilicata 2014-2020
The second semifinal of the interregional contest for emerging bands in Melfi on October 26, at 20.30 The interregional contest “European Social Sound 4U”, after the first semifinal which was held last Saturday, October 19 at the CineTeatro Due Torri, arrives in Melfi, with the second evening that will see eight emerging bands take the stage, of which only one will be the winner and will have access to the national final on 14 December in Matera.
European Social Sound is the first format at European level that combines a contest for high-level emerging bands to an information initiative on projects financed by the European Social Fund. It received a special mention at the Regiostars Awards 2016 and the MEI (Meeting of Independent Labels) award for the innovation and quality of its format. Four participating Regions: Umbria, Tuscany, Basilicata and Sicily, which thanks to an agreement signed and also supported by (ANPAL), the National Agency for Active Labor Policies, has allowed the initiative to grow.
“I am extremely happy – says Councilor Cupparo – that Basilicata has taken the opportunity to participate, with the other regions , to this innovative project of communication of the activities of the European Social Fund. A way of approaching the younger generations to ensure that regional policies in the field of vocational training and job placement have a widespread dissemination of information throughout the territory “.
The objectives of ESS4U are to expand the visibility of the European Union , its achievements, its culture and its values; to raise awareness of the opportunities made available by the ESF for citizens. The European Social Fund, in fact, finances projects concerning work, training and social inclusion and the fight against poverty. “I also – continues the Councilor – had the opportunity to appreciate the artistic quality of the youngsters in the competition. A way to give visibility to their passions but also a moment of sharing with other musicians from other regions or with nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Mario Venuti and Joe Barbieri ”.
Judges of the Lucanian semifinal of Melfi, which will take place on October 26 at the Ruggiero Theater at 8.30 pm, will be Monica Messina, pianist and interpreter graduated from the CET of Mogol, and Mario Venuti, singer, composer and musician, exponent of the new rock scene 80s with Denovo up to a solo career and album with Brazilian and jazz influences.
During the evening video testimonies of people, especially young people, will also be screened, who thanks to the opportunities offered by the FSE Basilicata 2014-2020 have improved their professional training o their social condition, thus facilitating job placement in the market.
The contest presented by Peppino Centola and Omar Gallo provides, in addition to the votes expressed by the quality jury, also that of the audience present in the room or in connection with the live streaming who will be able to express their preference directly online on the website www.europeansocialsound.it.
The winning bands of the divers if regional semifinals will be able to access the national final of Matera where the first will compete for a prize money, in services useful to promote their artistic activity, for a total value of 10 thousand euros. A critics prize of 3 thousand euros is also expected, again in services.
