CoVid19: The response from the European Commission. Information and documents.

The European Commission is coordinating a common European response to the outbreak of COVID-19 by taking resolute steps to strengthen public health sectors and mitigate the socio-economic impact in the European Union. provision, to help Member States coordinate individual national responses based on objective information on the spread of the virus and effective efforts to contain it; upon request, the Commission facilitates and coordinates the mobilization of offers of assistance, such as the provision of material protective or repatriation of citizens.

The Commission also co-finances the provision of assistance from one country to another. The Commission’s Emergency Response Coordination Center (Brussels) has a key role and is able to assist 24/7 all countries, in Europe and beyond, that request specific support crisis management by the national bodies in charge, but also information and guidelines on economics, mobility and public health.

The indications are intended to support joint action by the various Member States in accordance with the principles of the European Community. A coordination necessary to deal with the management of a crisis common to European nations for which there is a specific funding of 47.5 million euros for 17 research projects on CoVid19.
